How to cook Okonomi Yaki (a kind of Japanese pancake)
This food is said “Kona Mon-粉もん”.
It’s a juicy dish mixed sliced cabbage , flour , eggs, and water and cooked.
We eat usually with Otafuku sauce and Mayonnaise!
The point of flavor is put thin sliced pork on the dough.
Someone tell you this is Japanese pancake have taste of essence of seafood , pork, and veggie.
I recommend you to prepare the topping(dried bonito flakes and Ao Nor-青のり)
You will be addicted, once you eat it 🙂
Ingredients
SERVING: 2
Cabbage: 1/2(about 300g)
Leeks: 2pieces
Flour: 80g
Water: 100ml
Japanese yam 80g (If you have it. it will be a juicy cake)
Tempura bits (crunchy bits of tempura crust): 2tbsp
Eggs: 2pieces
Seafoods: (if you have seafoods mix, you can use it.)
Pork thin sliced: 6 pieces (any sizes are ok)
ーTopping seasoningsー
Mayonnaise
Otafuku sauce
may be substituted by mixed sauce of Tomato Ketchup and Worcestershire sauce in the ratio of1 to 2.
Aonori(dried seaweed)
Dried bonito flakes
Directions

Mince cabbages roughly.
Chop leeks finely(5mm pieces).
Mix the flour with the water well in a large bowl.
If you have, Ground Japanese yam. Add in it in the bowl.

From this step, need to make the dough one by one person.
Except for thin sliced pork,
Add in other ingredients(cabbages, leeks, eggs, Tempura bits, and seafoods) in the bowl,
and mix together.
(when mixing, mix softly by a spoon like adding air.)

《cooking by a pan》
At first, place oil on a pan, heat the pan until smoke lightly. and wait a second.
Heat the pan on the medium.
Put the doughs (amount of 1person), and spread it round to 2 cm of thickness.
Wait about 3min, and put the 3pieces(or more ) of thin sliced pork on it.
Flip the dough , and put the lid on the pan.

Cook until pork are baked as like steam(about 4min).
When the bottom side are brown, flip it again.
And cook about 2min except for the lid.

《cooking by a hot plate》
Heat a hot plate about 200℃.
Place the doughs (amount of 1person), and spread it round to 2 cm of thickness.
Wait about 3min, and put the 3pieces of thin sliced pork on it.
Flip the dough, and put the lid on the hot plate.

Turn up the hot plate to about 240℃.
Cook until porks are baked as like steam(about 5min).
When the bottom side is brown, flip again.
And cook for about 2min except for the lid.
Just before eating, sprinkle toppings on it.
Serve warm!
